On today's attire list

Like most 2 year olds Evelyn and Adia get dressed several times a day. Today at around 5 they asked to wear panties. Feeling ambitious, I complied. So far so good. Keep your fingers crossed.

How early is too early? Lately the kids have been getting up anywhere between 7 and 8. And without fail the first words out of their mouths are "I need food". Now 7 is really hard for me because I usually spend most of the night switching from side to side and resituating or getting up to go pee 5 times, etc(such is life of a 31 weeks pregnant lady). Neil has been so awesome about handling these certain mornings for me. So this morning at 6:45 Adia makes her way into our room with her usual request, Neil sends her straight back to bed because there is no way that we are going to start giving them breakfast before 7 in the blessed A.M. Surprisingly, she fell back to sleep. Now that got me thinking "could I get away with sending them back to bed even after 7?". So here is my question: How early is too early, and should I just be happy when they sleep past 7 or try to demand it(yes I realize demanding anything like this from 2 year olds is a very tall order and probably crazy)?

A "must have" at our house

Elastic adjustable waist pants are a must when it comes to my kids. Their cute little bums aren't enough to hold up regular waisted pants. I have only been able to find them in the Genuine Kids brand which only seems to be at Target, and only sometimes do they carry a fairly basic pair of jeans.

I got lucky today. The pants my girls have been wearing for probably more than a year are 18 month size. Luckily they aren't too rough on pants, only a few pairs are starting to show wear in the knees and they are getting a little short. I'm excited to have some to replace them. I would recommend these to anybody.

Despicable Me

Despicable Me, an absolutely adorable movie that my kids completely love and I quite enjoy as well. Thankfully, it's funny, witty, and silly, it's just great!

I had to hurry and take pictures before the movie actually started because once it did, there would be no looking away and definitely not long enough to say "cheese".

"Spickle Me" is a favorite in our house.

A new approach to blogging

If you haven't noticed I'm trying a different approach to blogging. I've already outdone myself for the past 6 months in the past 2 days, many thanks to Neil and my early Valentine's/birthday present. Which makes blogging for me incredibly easy(as of right now I'm laying in bed, contemplating a nap). I hope to continue on this path of even multiple posts per day. Of course depending on the excitement of that day, but when you're the mom of 2 two year olds life is rarely quiet or boring. So wish me luck and stay tuned!

Haircut for Roo

Today Corinne and my dad came by so I could give Corinne a haircut. It was fun, we took off probably close to 6 inches and trimmed her bangs and put in some layers. I kept teasing her about giving her a mullet if she didn't tell me what she wanted. It was fun so see and talk to my dad and Rinney Roo

The Story

We found out we were expecting our first mid-March 2008, our little bundle of joy would arrive sometime early November. June rolled around, we went to find out if it was a boy or a girl. Much to our excitement, it was a girl, much to our surprise, she had a sister in there too. We were so excited, and shocked at the same time. And because there were 2 the doctor moved my due date up to early October. Mid-September comes up and I'm sent to the hospital, I'm in labor. Evelyn Mae and Adia Ashley were born the morning of September 23rd.

The Story Take III

We found out we were expecting #4 in early June, not quite ready to share the news we kept our excitement to ourselves for a while. We told the kids but were fairly certain they had forgotten when Neil's whole family came, visited, and left without a word about our bun in the oven. A couple of weeks later, we had some family over for a 4th of July BBQ. Evelyn was admiring Chavonne's 5 month old Emmett and decided to announce "Angelica has a baby in her belly!" Everybody was excited and I was very surprised since I had decided my kids had forgotten. I moving into the 2nd trimester now, and looking forward to finding out the gender of our sweet little love bun.

Ghost In A Jar

Neil sings and plays guitar in a band called Ghost In A Jar. With his friends Tom at the drums, and Peter playing the bass, they started playing together in April of 2006. They've played at a lot of different places including Starry Night, Muse, and The Loft at Ozz in Provo, Comedy Circuit in Midvale, and at various other places and events. Its been fun to listen to them progress and work on writing their songs and having such a great time together. Sadly in April of 2011 they went their separate ways.
