And Now Something Completely Different!

This is us playing a few weeks back. Maybe you've seen it before, maybe you haven't, but enjoy either way. And yes, we're fully aware of how long the song is. haha

Yesterday's Project

So for a while now I've been curious about this fondant frosting. Its supposed to be super smooth and shiny. It looks almost like play-do. The cakes I say were always so fun and artistic. So I finally got the courage to give it a go. Needless to say that its not very smooth and not very shiny but I had to try. It took me forever to get the fondant rolled out to the right thickness so it wouldn't tear, and 2 or 3 tries to finally get it on the cake.

I didn't really have a reason to make this cake so we're just saying that it for another semester down for Neil. I also had no idea how I was going to decorate it. So I just colored the left over fondant and used a star shaped cookie cutter. It was the only one I had that wasn't a snowman or a Christmas tree. Like I said earlier its not very smooth and not very shiny, but I'm hoping that now that I know the process the next one will look a little better.

Family Fun and Brynn's Birthday

Adia loves kisses. Grandma May was just loving on Adia. When Adia decided she wanted to return the gifts. She then started putting her open mouth on Grandma's cheeks and blow, like she was trying to give her a zurbert, it was so stinkin' cute.

And Evelyn is rolling over now. But only when nobody is looking.
Just a cute picture of Eve and Adi on the floor.
Eve and Adi got more cousin time at Brynn's birthday party. They love playing with Misty.
Brynn is 4! Its always fun to find a reason to spend time with family. She wanted a Strawberry Shortcake strawberry shortcake, she's such a cutie.

Easter!

We spent Easter weekend in Fountain Green with the family. First we went over to Chavonne's for and egg hunt. Wyatt, Dusty, and Kaylee showing off their baskets full of eggs. They had so much fun hunting for eggs they wanted to do it again.
My mom always made Easter dresses for all 8 of us girls. I always felt so special with my special made dress. I wanted to carry on the tradition, so I made Evelyn and Adia's Easter dresses. My mom helped me a lot. Felicia and Chavonne also wanted to carry on the tradition, we got a group picture with all of them in their dresses.
Kaylee (Felicia's), Adia, Evelyn, and Misty (Chavonne's)
I decided it was time to get an updated family picture. Sunday was such a nice day so we took it on the porch swing.

Neil's Band Show

Neil's band, Ghost In a Jar played a benefit concert Friday night at Muse Music in Provo. It was so great to get to watch him perform again. Its been so long since I've heard any of the stuff they've been working on. Charity was so great about watching Eve and Adi so I could go.

Eve and Adi enjoying a little personal band pre-show. There they are perched on my leg watching Daddy play the guitar.
Now, at the real show, Neil playing with his pedals. It was such a great show, clearly Neil enjoyed playing as much as I enjoyed watching them.
I forgot how much I enjoyed the shows. I feel so proud to see him up there sharing his talents. The crowd was great they were dancing and cheering and the energy was awesome! It was just a really fun show.
Like I mentioned before its been a while since I've been able to hear any of their songs. Since I heard them last their bass player Peter moved away, and they've welcomed Shawn as a second guitarist.
They are still looking for a bass player but I think they sounded wonderful. It was very full and didn't sound like it was missing much. I so proud of Neil and all that he has accomplished with his music. I'm continually amazed at his ability to write lyrics and put them to song. I love you Neil, keep it up!

Shhh... Don't tell Daddy

I've been thinking I should get a couple of hats for Eve and Adi. But of course, you can't ever by just one, or in my case two.

Evelyn in hat #1

Adia in hat #2

Evelyn in hat #3

Adia in hat #4

I've also had my eye on these leggin's Target has since attending a baby shower a few weeks ago. Aren't they cute!

And pair #2 for Adia.
This is exactly why you should always shop a with a list and get nothing but what is on the list.

Eve in her new outfit.

And Adi in hers

What a Wonderful Weekend!

This past weekend Neil's dad and youngest brother, Gary were in town for a couple of days, for General Conference. So we got to spend Sunday with them, it was great. Kirk, Neil's other brother was able to travel up to Salt Lake with us. Van and Gary were staying just a few block north of Temple Square. It was such a nice day out we decided to take a walk down to Temple Square and see what there was to see.

Neil, Dad, Adia, Evelyn, Kirk, and Gary all lined up in the Old Tabernacle.

I'd never been in the Old Tabernacle before, it was very cool to see.

Grandpa Van loving the snuggles he got from Adia. Both Eve and Adi got to spend lots of time with Grandpa and Uncle Gary. They've grown a lot since they saw them last, back in November.  It was so great to be able to spend some time with them.

Babies, babies, babies

So I thought I'd do a little update post. I know, all I ever blog about are my daughters, but any knowing mother will understand that right now thats the only thing happening in my life. I'm not complaining, I love being able to stay home with them all day.

Adia has finally figured out how to roll over. She is constantly rolling into Evelyn, who never really seems to mind as long as she doesn't get kicked in the head. Evelyn has all the sudden become a little chatter box and is always talking.

This only happened once because they don't usually use these kind of binkies, but Adia pulled it out and put it back in all by herself. She thought it was pretty cool that this binky had something to hold on to. They are growing so fast and learning so much I can hardly believe it.

I just had to put this up. Adia  asleep in the jumperoo, again. When she gets tired she fights it and fights it, so I just put her in the jumperoo or the swing and she's usually out within a few minutes.

I thought this was pretty cute. Evelyn and her Daddy just hanging out on the floor watching a movie. Eve is almost rolling over and I don't know what I'm going to do when all the sudden I have 2 mobile babies moving around the house. Adia gets stuck under the coffee table at least once or twice a day. I just can't believe how time really does fly. I feel so blessed to be able to be with these sweet little girls all day, everyday. I love being a mom!

Easter Dresses

So my sister Charity was out of town for seriously the whole month of March. And for sanity purposes I tend to spend a lot of time at her house. So to help keep me sane while she was gone I decided to make Evelyn and Adia Easter dresses. I'm pretty excited with how they turned out. I decided to take a bunch of pictures, so here are a few.

This was the first picture I took. Adia looks so surprised with her wide open eyes.

Evelyn lately has started with this one lifted eyebrow thing. I didn't even realized she was looking at me like that until I went back to look at all the pictures. I thought it was pretty funny.

Of course this was the last picture I took, because they finally both decided to smile. But luckily I was ready and caught them both on camera.

Apparently when Mommy sneezes its the funniest thing to Evelyn.

I couldn't get Adia to smile hardly at all. She just wanted to study the camera.
