Just a little Rainy Day Post

Neil here. Just wanted to post pictures of these sweet little girls before we go off on a walkabout at the mall. It's raining outside, and so the mall is a good place to go to walk around and burn off some of this energy these girls have. :)

Loads of Fun and Mischief

Wow February, where'd you go? Adia and Evelyn are becoming quite the independent little ladies. I can hardly believe it! They'll be going into Nursery this month and yes, I'm still reeling from this statement. Some fun photos from this past month.

The weight limit for this swing: 15lbs
Adia's weight: at least 20lbs
Whether the swing will be intact for another infant: yet to be seen
I once found both girls in the swing at the same time.
Sisterly Love. I live for moments like these. Eve was tired and whiney, and wanting to go to bed. Adi takes it upon herself to snuggle her til she falls asleep.
Of course all the commotion perked them right up. Now Adia is hugging Evelyn, and surprisingly Eve didn't mind getting poked in the eye.
"We love Daddy, YES WE DO!"
Thanks to Uncle Kirk Eve and Adi now know how to work the light switches. Needless to say Adia will stop at nothing to get to them.
Say "CHEESE!"
I absolutely adore this picture. They have both become major "Daddy's girls", and it melts my heart to see how much they love their Daddy.
"Look Mommy, Dad built us a fort!"
This is Adia's latest "cheese" face. I can't help but laugh every time.
The weather has been warmer then usual the past couple of days, so we've spent some time outside. And yes, they often run opposite directions. They wanted nothing to do with standing still for even a second, so this picture was the best I could do.

Walking!

I can now say I officially have 2 walking babies...
I don't know how I should feel about this.
On one had I'm super excited for both of them, their world just got bigger and they're becoming their own little independent selves.
On the other, my itty bitty preemies(or at least thats how I think of them) are growing up too fast, and its heart breaking.

They took "their first steps" back in mid December but always preferred crawling, it was faster and more comfortable.

Adia started actually walking a couple of weeks ago, and has been strolling around like she owns the place since then. And I can honestly say I'm still not used to seeing her walk into the room like its nothing.

Evelyn has known how to walk for a while I'm sure, but she never really cared to show it off or practice. But like rolling over, crawling, and pulling herself to stand she was perfectly content to watch Adia figure it out and then just do it one day. This past Monday I was loading the dishwasher and out of the corner of my eye I see a baby walk up to the kitchen entry from the coffee table. Thinking it was Adia strutting her stuff I glance her way with a smile, and have to take a double take when I see that it's Evelyn standing in the entry way with her big toothless cheesy grin, as if to say "I can do it when I feel like it".

So now the question is...

how is life going to be?

More
bigger
messier
messes to come soon, I'm sure.

The Past Little While

As most parents know most 1 year olds are more interested in the box and the wrapping then what came in the box and the wrapping. Well, my kids are no different as the next few photos will clearing show.
Daddy got a package from ThinkGeek.com today. Do we care that the gifts that came in it cost $40 and were a huge hit at the office party? Of course not! We just want the box!

Oh Daddyyyy, I'm in your booox! :D

Adi cop, once again, patrolling the streets, and fighting crime.

Ok Mom, I ready to be shipped off to Washington to visit Grandma and Grandpa Oler.

Evelyn: Oh my gosh, she's gonna do it!
Just as Neil finished his last final for the semester we took off up to Salt Lake to see the lights at Temple Square with our great friends Jason, Ellynn, and Finn.
Eve and Adi loved it! My camera died after just a few snapshots but at least I got a couple cute pictures.

Me and my Meil. I love you babe, you are a wonderful husband, and an amazing father. I love that I get to spend the rest of my eternity with you.

The wagon train. We thought "oh its a week night, it won't be too busy". Wrong, every youth group in the state of Utah was there as well. But we still had loads of fun!

One day we went to the mall and had Eve and Adi pick out a Christmas present for themselves. They loved them. At the same mall just across the way my little sister Erika was trying on wedding dresses. Of course we had to stop.
Here Adi and Eve are admiring Aunt Erika as she tries on dress after dress.

Of course Adi couldn't stand to not be the center of attention for long. So while Erika was in the dressing room, she stole the stange.
Eve and Adi's new favorite thing is... you guessed it, the laundry basket. They've figured out how to get in and out without tipping it over and they thoroughly enjoy it.
I should also to tell you that their toy box is really a laundry basket as well, and for the life of me I can't understand why they would rather sit on their toys instead of pull them out and play with them. Oh well, another mystery of the baby mind.
I hope you've enjoyed my post, I hope I can keeping updating my blog more often. See you soon!

Just a Little Update

These picture are in no kind of order. I just wanted to post them and give an update on what we've been up to lately.

Adia showing off her teeth. She currently has 8 teeth in front, 2 top molars peeking out, and 1 top right canine making a bump and causing lots of pain for my poor Adi lady. But she's been a trooper about it and is very good about letting me wipe her nose a million times a day.
The many faces of Evelyn. This is a newer one, a look that can kill. But I can help but laugh.
That tongue spends more time out of her mouth then in it.
And the classic surprised face that never gets old. Every time she hears something or sees something that gets her excited she pulls this face.
We have recently discovered Evelyn's love for dogs. This dog was at my Grandma's house during Thanksgiving and she couldn't get enough of it.
Adia as a bumble bee for Halloween
and Eve as a fairy. I feel bad these were the only pictures I got of them in their costumes. I guess if I really wanted more I could dress them up again.
Eve and Adi LOVE it when their friend Finn comes to play, which he does often, but I am definitely not complaining. Ellynn, Finn's mom, is a great friend of mine, and we always have a good time.
One morning Adia decided to join Daddy's shower time, jammies and all.
This little monkey (Adia) has figured out how to climb onto chairs now I have to watch her extra close. She thinks she's so big.
Bath time with cousin Misty. As you can see she wasn't too thrilled about it, two splashing babies was probably a little too much.
I love this little cheesin' face of Evelyn's, it just makes me so happy.
Riding the skateboard with Daddy. Probably not how Neil would have preferred to ride his skateboard, but it did make for some wonderful fun with his girlies.
I went into their room to check on them and this is what I found. Instead of taking the toys out of the toy box, they decided to just join the toys instead. I'm surprised the toy box didn't tip over while they were climbing in.
All tuckered out after breakfast? Early nap day for sure.
I hope you've enjoyed my post. I've been so bad about updating lately and I'm going to try harder to update more often. See ya soon!

Happy Birthday Adia and Evelyn (really really late)

So I know I'm horrible, and yes my kids turned 1 over a month ago, and I would just forego doing this post because its so late, but there's a certain Grandma who I know would like to see these.
So the night before I got started on the cake.
And of course they got busy getting into mischief. Evelyn eating the remote for the computer.
And Adia showing me she can open and close the cupboards, which isn't so bad, but it was right where I was standing to work on the cake.
"What Mom?, I can't do any real damage, I have no teeth!"
"Because I'm cute! Thats why I can get away with this."
Long after they were in bed, the finished product emerged. Not too bad if I do say so myself.
The morning of. Adia just likes to be under anything, even if its incredibly uncomfortable.
All dolled up and ready to party!
Showing off her teeth again.
Evelyn strikin' a pose.
I apologize for not having any pictures of the actual party. I did get video thanks to Kirk. The party was a success. Eve and Adi completely destroyed their cake, not leaving a single piece intact.
Its been one amazing year, I never thought my life could be so completely full of happiness. Sure there are days when listing my children on ebay sounds tempting, but I can't imagine my life without these 2 little rays of sunshine and I can't believe I ever lived without them. At the end of everyday I am always so incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to be the mother of beautiful little girls.

Family Pictures!

Karly Zendejas of Karly Kim Photography is a good friend of Neil's from Washington. We were some of the lucky few to get to be a part of her portfolio. Here are a few photos, it so nice to finally get some updated photos, and especially some I like so much.

Of course because we were having family pictures, Eve and Adi were tough to crack even a slight smile.
Setting them loose on the grass did pull a few smiles from them eventually.
And of course Daddy throwing them in the air always results in a big grin.

I was really quite impressed with Karly, the whole experience was laid back and easy. I guess I've been kinda nervous and dreading getting professional pictures taken, but this was easy and enjoyable. Thanks so much Karly, I love them!
